Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Sprecher East, how it works, and how to get involved.
General
What is Sprecher East?
The neighborhood on Madison’s Far East Side that includes Meadowlands, Door Creek and Reston Heights. This website is an unofficial project that gathers local news, city meetings and resources for it in one place.
Is Sprecher East an official neighborhood association?
No. This is an unofficial site run by one resident, and no registered association is behind it. Forming one with the City of Madison is a goal if enough neighbors want it.
Is this the same as the Meadowlands HOA?
No. This site has nothing to do with any HOA. It has no dues, no rules about your property and no enforcement power. It only shares information.
Who runs this?
Amine Boulaajaj, a resident of the neighborhood, with AI tools doing research and drafting. See the About page for more.
AI helps build this website?
Yes. We use AI tools to research, draft and organize what’s here. One resident reviews what gets published, and longer pieces say what they’re based on.
How is Sprecher East different from Nextdoor?
Nextdoor is a social network. This site isn’t: it collects local news, events and city resources, and has no feed or ads.
Membership
How do I join?
You don’t need to. There’s no membership and no sign-up. Read the site, and reach out through the contact form if you want to share something or help.
What can I do to help?
Tell us what you’d like covered, point out anything that’s wrong, tell a neighbor, or offer an hour for something small.
Does it cost anything to be a member?
No. There are no dues, fees or membership.
Neighborhood
How do I report a neighborhood issue?
