The City plans two new outdoor storm sirens on the far east side, one in North Star Park and one in Door Creek Park.

The Board of Park Commissioners approved them in September. Delivery is about 10 to 14 weeks out, so installation is expected this winter or early next spring.

The North Star siren will be near the basketball court on North Star Dr., set back in the park from nearby homes. The update doesn’t say where in Door Creek Park the other one will go. We’ll share it when the City does.

Sirens are meant for people outdoors. The City has long encouraged using more than one way to get severe weather alerts (City of Madison, opens in a new tab).
